About the Autonomous Ideas project

The Problem

The Autonomous Ideas project is an idea that has come out of experience. After participating in the formation of the MDC as the main opposition party in Zimbabwe. Which was set up to oppose Mugabe a network of individuals who were part of this process have come to realise the brutal consequences  of the reactionary nature of the manner in which resistance to Mugabe was build. The danger with the method used and the solution propagated to the Mugabe problem now appear set to recycle dictatorship. It now seems very clear that Mugabe will be replaced by yet another person who has no value different from that of Mugabe. But again it has been noticed and is argued by those who have formed this project that it is not necessarily Mugabe or the MDC that is the whole problem. It is society through the actions of every individual that sustains dictatorship.

Removing Mugabe to replace him with another powerful individual will clearly sustain the problem of domination and abuse. Thus it will also, as has already been experienced create a new conduit for the western liberal globalisation actors to enforce their destructive policies on Zimbabwe.

One of the ways to the solution

As a result of these challenges Autonomous Ideas is setup to be a platform through which the people of Zimbabwe, as individuals, internal and external can start the process of engaging each other on ideas relating to radical social change, which ideas connect our systems of thought and knowledge to our problems and solutions. Ideas that reject power as an external negative but accept it as floating and possibly progressive force that society has to recapture and refocus.

Autonomous Ideas’ main aims are to start debate on such ideas as autonomy, horizontalism and other associated ideas as approaches to the Zimbabweans problem.

About this website’s contribution

This website is therefore dedicated to the discussion of autonomous ideas and is working on making sure that people can start to engage on a process of thinking differently from how we have always thought.  This website provides an area, in the right corner of the front page where all new ideas, proposed by individuals are discussed. Each idea gets followed by comments of website visitors. The same space as well is setup as an area where ideas and in some cases articles that are suggested by members, from external forces are put in place for a month so members can engage with the ideas. This allows the birth of new ideas based on what other people may have written about the subjects of interest.

The bottom part of the website, which appears on all pages, is provided for free by the parent website, which hosts the Autonomous Ideas website. It is News ideas of the Zimbabwe Political Analysts’ Network news. There has not been any agreement as to whether this part should be maintained or not thus at the moment it appears with disabled links. There is an argument that keeping it makes will provide a base for promoting new ideas by showing the current issues and dogmas.
