ZIMBABWE international midfielder Esrom Nyandoro’s dream of moving
to Sheffield United in the English Premiership appears to have
turned into a nightmare.
According to the online South African football publication Kick-Off,
Nyandoro was yesterday heading back to South African champions
Mamelodi Sundowns after a row between his club and the newly
promoted English Premiership outfit.
Kick-Off reported that Nyandoro’s "entire transfer issue has not
been the smoothest of operations."
"Nyandoro is not very happy with the way things have been going."
Sheffield it appears were not amused by an order from Sundowns for
them to make a decision on Nyandoro before the end of this week.
The Yorkshire club’s response was to put Nyandoro on the first
flight back to South Africa.
Former Warriors captain Peter Ndlovu, who once had a stint at Neil
Warnock’s side, had recommended Nyandoro to The Blades.
Nyandoro was one of the hotshots in Mamelodi Sundowns’ success story
in the league campaign and was even named the club’s player of the
year.
His star seemed to be on the rise when he was invited to England
with Sheffield making a one million pound bid for the industrious
midfielder last month.
However, problems started to dog him before his departure when the
British immigration authorities denied him a visa last month.
The visa finally came through and he entered England on July 19.
Two other Premiership sides Bolton Wanderers and Fulham were also
tracking Nyandoro and it was not immediately clear whether they are
still interested.
Sundowns wanted to include Nyandoro in their pre-season tournaments. |
